Last October 8 and 9, Unilab Foundation held the first Design Your Health: A Holistic Health and Wellness Fair, in Mandala Park, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. The 2-day event showcased the importance of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual activities, and how they affect one’s overall health and well-being. It also aimed to go beyond ULF programs and teach more individuals the value of holistic health.

The event featured 15 workshops covering the different aspects of health, including Stress Transformation, Self-Leadership, Basic Self Defense, and Art for Mental Relaxation. There were also free health talks, focusing on Nutrition for Every Body and Managing a Digital World; cooking demos from McCormick; and demo classes on Body Combat, Zumba, and Line Dance.

The Fair celebrated local creativity and ingenuity with its all-Filipino health bazaar. The bazaar featured arts and crafts, beauty products, healthy drinks and snacks, bags, children’s books, and other unique finds like salt lamps and waxed bags.

The Design Your Health workshops, talks, art exhibit and auction, and health bazaar provided the first step for its attendees to take charge of their own wellbeing.

The event was also made possible by the generosity of groups who believed in the value of holistic health. Design Your Health was co-presented by Unilab’s Myra, and McCormick Philippines. It was sponsored by Mandala Park, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), and White Space Mind and Body Wellness Studio.

With the success of its first run, ULF will gear up for Design Your Health 2017, aiming to reach even more individuals, families, and organizations. Together, everyone can contribute to a healthier Philippines, one healthy person at a time.
