Netizens, unite for health! Unilab Foundation has expanded into digital space, bringing the same message of health to new and exciting heights.
Novel possibilities in volunteerism were explored as ULF held its first digital media night, dubbed “#healthierPH: Redefining Volunteerism for a Healthier Philippines, One Click at a Time,” at Sentro 1771, Capitol Commons last September 17.
It was a night of fun activities, collaborative networking and wacky poses, amidst colorful backdrops and comfort food. The “rockstars of digital media” – from online news writers to bloggers on health, fitness, parenting, lifestyle and advocacy – were introduced to ULF’s mission and programs by no other than ULF Executive Director Rhodora Palomar-Fresnedi. She also affirmed the power of the media, particularly its digital platforms, in spreading a culture of positive change.
Members of the ULF team then officially launched the #healthierPH Volunteer Portal, with a fresh batch volunteer projects to choose from. The Portal empowers everyone – no matter where they are or what their circumstance – to help build a healthier Philippines through unique contributions.
An online movement for everyday health, #healthishappening, was also rolled out. It’s an online contest that calls for netizens to post photographic evidence of a healthy habit done for at least 21 consecutive days. It aims to foster everyday health, built on the belief that change can happen, one healthy commitment at a time. After all, a healthier Philippines starts with healthy citizens.
The Digital Media Night is envisioned to be the beginning of ULF’s lasting collaborative relationship with the media – its partners in building a #healthierPH.
#healthishappening is a project under the Volunteer Portal – visit the project site for details.
